I looked at the home page, and realized that I never wrote about painting with Burton Morris… Wow. I can’t believe that I never wrote about it. Anyway, all the pictures from it are scrolling on the home page, on a continuous slide if you want to look at it. So, on March 4, 2008, my brother, John, some other diabetic people, and I got to paint with Burton Morris. I knew everybody there- Olivia, Alix, Maggie, Jacob, Jake, Carolyn, John, and me- and it was so much fun. There is a picture on the home page of Jake, me, Stanley Marks, Olivia, and Maggie that was in the newspaper. Anyway, back to the painting. We all had an hour session with four people and Burton Morris, and we painted a total of three paintings. There were twelve people. It was for the JDRF Gala, at which I spoke, and I narrated a video of the painting sessions. Anyway… It was really fun. And all the pictures can be viewed on the home site.

So… On March 23, 2008, I got my braces removed. I had a post on my old blog about getting my braces on (June 8, 2006) and if you used to go to my old website, you might’ve thought that I still had braces, but I’ve had them off for almost a month now. They feel totally different… There are no brackets left in my mouth…
And now I can chew gum and eat apples- which is my favorite part…
Yesterday Michael had a soccer game… He played well. I think that there is a picture of Katherine and Michael on the home site, but I’m not positive. I have no idea where it was… I’d never been there before, so I didn’t know where we were… But he played well, and we took lots of pictures, which will probably end up on this website sooner or later…

So… Today, if you read my previous blog you be aware (haha- get it? aware!) that today is diabetes awareness day. I’m just repeating that to make sure everybody gets it… So… Today I had a track meet, which was canceled and rescheduled tomorrow. Also, I had a softball game, which we technically won, even though we didn’t keep score…
Here is a picture of me in the dugout:
It’s really cold out today… About 40 degrees, going down to 26 tonight… which is a drastic change from the pleasant 70 of last week…
I just wish it would either get warm or snow!

Anyway, just in case you were unaware, I have type one diabetes. I spoke about my diabetes at the JDRF Pittsburgh Gala two weeks ago today. If you want to read about it, click here This was my fifth gala… Three years ago, I spoke with John and two others, but this year I spoke alone. Here is the video from three years ago:
I will post this year’s speech when I get it. I don’t really know what i am supposed to do for Diabetes Awareness Day other than tell people about diabetes, so I guess I’m good on that part if, you are reading this…![]()
Ok… Well, be sure to remember that Monday is Diabetes Awareness Day!!!
